Denver dealership’s give-back program backs a decade-long tradition that has raised $360,000 for local and global relief efforts

DENVER, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Groove Toyota’s Groove For Good initiative served as chief sponsor of Sushi Den’s 10th Annual Rooftop Party, held this summer in Denver’s Platt Park neighborhood. The event featured local restaurants and live entertainment, and has raised $360,000 for local and international causes since it began.

“Groove For Good is about showing up for the causes that matter most to our neighbors right here in Denver,” said Chuck Morris, owner and managing partner of Groove Toyota. “Sushi Den’s rooftop party brings our community together to do exactly that, and we’re proud to stand behind it.”

Sushi Den co-founder Yasu Kizaki said this year’s support marked a new level for the tradition. “This year, Groove Toyota has become our most important partner and sponsor of the event,” Kizaki said. “We cannot thank them enough for their support.”

A central part of this year’s fundraising went to We Don’t Waste, a Denver nonprofit that recovers surplus food and redistributes it to more than 150 local nonprofits, including food banks, soup kitchens, and shelters. “Just so far this year, we’ve recovered almost 3.5 million pounds of food,” said Drew Sanford, fleet manager for We Don’t Waste.

Support also went to the Wildland Firefighters Foundation, World Central Kitchen’s Venezuela earthquake relief, and Kumamoto earthquake relief in Japan, honoring the cause that inspired the first rooftop party ten years ago.
