Mountain West Country Music Association recognition highlights Woodland Park’s growing role in the regional live music community
WOODLAND PARK, CO, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — America’s Mountain Festival / Tava House has been named a nominee for the Mountain West Country Music Association’s 2026 Venue of the Year Award, recognizing its contribution to live country music and the growing music community across the Mountain West.
The Mountain West Country Music Association announced five nominees for the honor: Copper River Family Entertainment & Events, Tom Davis Saloon, Phil Long Music Hall, Shifterz Bar & Grill and America’s Mountain Festival / Tava House.
The nomination recognizes venues and organizations that provide artists with places to perform and create memorable experiences where fans can come together in support of live country music.
“We are incredibly proud to see America’s Mountain Festival and Tava House recognized alongside some outstanding venues that are doing so much for live music in our region,” said Derek Waggoner, founder of America’s Mountain Festival and Tava House investor. “From the beginning, our goal has been to create experiences that bring people together. This nomination belongs to the artists, volunteers, sponsors, community partners and fans who have believed in what we are building here in Woodland Park.”
America’s Mountain Festival has quickly become a signature music and community event in Woodland Park, bringing nationally recognized and emerging country artists to the Pikes Peak region while maintaining a strong emphasis on community, family and support for military members and veterans.
The 2026 festival featured headliner Aaron Watson along with Jenna Paulette, Walker Montgomery, Tyce Delk, the Matt Skinner Band and Kenya Reese. The festival was held at Woodland Station in downtown Woodland Park.
For festival organizers, the Venue of the Year nomination represents an important milestone as planning moves forward for America’s Mountain Festival 2027.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects what we have worked so hard to create — a festival that is about much more than a stage and a lineup,” said Heather Burrows AMF Operations Director, America’s Mountain Festival. “It is about creating a place where artists feel welcomed, fans feel connected and our entire community can share an unforgettable experience. We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported America’s Mountain Festival and helped make this nomination possible.”
Tava House has also expanded its role as a gathering place for music, entertainment and special events in Woodland Park. Its River Room, Taproom, patio and other spaces provide opportunities for performances and community programming throughout the year.
The winner of the Venue of the Year Award will be announced Nov. 7 during the 2026 Mountain West Country Music Awards at The Antlers in Colorado Springs.
The awards evening is the culminating event of the Mountain West Country Fest and will include a cocktail hour, a three-course plated dinner, an awards ceremony, performances, and live music.
“We appreciate everyone who supported the festival, attended, volunteered, sponsored, performed or simply helped spread the word,” Waggoner said. “This recognition is something our entire community can be proud of.”
