Historic Library Roof Restoration After Vandalism – Guardian Roofing
Orange, United States – February 23, 2026 / Guardian Roofs /
Los Angeles, CA — What could have been a devastating loss for a beloved historic library has become a powerful story of swift action and expert restoration.
After a trespasser climbed onto the 100-year-old building the day after Thanksgiving and damaged its original terracotta roof tiles, immediate repairs were critical to protecting the structure from further harm.
Guardian Roofs stepped in to lead the restoration, bringing skill, precision, commitment and deep respect for the building’s historic character. Their team carefully repaired and restored the damaged roof, preserving both the structural integrity and architectural beauty of the landmark. Thanks to their masterful craftsmanship, the library once again stands protected: stronger and more secure than it has been in years.

In tandem with the roof restoration, long-problematic Ficus trees that had been pressed against the structure for decades were removed, further stabilizing the site and ensuring its long-term preservation.
These efforts were made possible through the combined support of dedicated donors and community partners committed to safeguarding this treasured historic space.
What began as an act of vandalism has become a testament to resilience, craftsmanship, and community commitment. With Guardian Roof’s expertise, this historic library is not just repaired, it is renewed.
